Entering our vintage lair, you will currently find our men’s showroom first…full of vintage jeans, retro suit jackets and shirts, unique tees, vintage mens boots and shoes dating back to the 1940’s, hip ties and belts, hidden among old movie posters, sports memorabilia, and fun decor.

It’s flanked to the right by our Fabulous green room … this is where we keep the vintage slips and lingerie collections, mid-century jewelry, beaded purses, mexican silver from the 50’s through the80’s, funky costume jewelry, our vast collection of ladies vintage belts, as well as a few true finds, like turn of the century glasses and fox furs, ladies gloves, and rare ephemera. Cruise the jewelry case while you complete your purchase, you never know what you might see… an Apollo 13 Mission commemorative button, a 1918 beaded purse, an 18th century pony fur muff, bakelite and rhinestones galore….

The Fleur de Lis/Ladies Separates Room

Ladies separates live just past the men’s room, as well as all manner of ladies shoes and purses, and vintage ladies jeans in the Fleur de Lis room. Check out the purses, find a 50’s circle skirt, a 40’s pencil skirt, a 70’s peasant skirt, and match them up with funky tees, prim vintage cashmere sweaters, fringed cowgirl pearl snaps, and funky 70’s sweaters. You may even find an 80’s Cosby sweater or two in here. Don’t forget to accessorize! Throughout the store you’ll find hats, scarves, purses, and shoes to complete your look or create a whole new one.

Continue into the kitchy kitchen and pilfer our drawers! They’re stocked with hand embroidered tea towels, printed 40’s tablecloths, ethnic tapestries, 70’s sand art, ashtrays and politically incorrect knick-knacks, dishware, small furnishings, blankets, and a nice collection of vintage fabrics- barkcloth and early rayons, chenile curtains and handmade doilies, and a few baby and doll clothes too.

Our Kitchy Kitchen

Beyond the kitchen is the best dress-up room ever(currently not pictured) … imagine an all decades cocktail/prom/disco party, and our dressing rooms. You’ll spend hours playing dress up with our 40’s and 50’s day dresses, 60’s mod shifts, 70’s peasant dresses, dreamy tulle and satin and shiny showy sequins. We do. Here you’ll also find capes, bolo jackets, and of course, hats of all manner, too. If it’s a part of dressing to the nines, it’s in here. Strategically tucked between the dresses and the kitchen is our vinyl and appliance collection … ’cause ladies like their beaus to be nearby to admire dresses as they try on, and we know what will keep them there. Use the turntable, sit in the kitchen for a game of dominoes while your girl makes herself fabulous for you… that’s what they’re there for.

To the right of the kitchen you’ll find our aqua room(not pictured), currently featuring our coat collection, halloween and theatrical costumes, and our sale and new arrivals racks. Follow it back up front stop to check out our hanging lanterns, bug sprayers, and vintage lamps and beauty products in the railway house style bathroom that also serves as a walk-through hallway

Chillin on the Porch

Finally our porch is a community gathering spot. Sit, take a break from walking sofi’s shops, smell the orange pork roasting next door, chat with local personalities- you never know who might stop by. Then head over to Somnio’s for your favorite (byob) beer and the best (and best priced) local, natural, vegetarian friendly eatery in the neighborhood. We recommend the Sissy salad and the Crazy Pork Medallions followed by lemon or chocolate italian ice. And the salads are divine and large. Gaze on our shared back yard, take in South Austin’s comfortable culture, and admire your vintage treasures with us over coffee and conversation.
